Nowadays it's all about what's coming in from the garden ," according to food writer Michele Cranston  ."The focus is on where produce comes from , sustainability and using locally grown food,"she explains .For home cooks ,the fresh and organic trend includes starting terrace vegetable patch and buying ingredients directly from growers .Prompted by TV cooking competitions and behind -the-scenes shows,more people are also experimenting with cuisine and "plating up"  at home ."And they are questioning the ethics of where produce comes from ,"says chef Matt Moran.
Comfort food and slow cooking are in the spotlight this winter ,so get ready for long rustic meals with friends over homegrown or organic greens and vegetables.
